MOHRE celebrates Emirati Women's Day with special film about their role in development

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) has celebrated the Emirati Women's Day, which comes this year under the slogan 'Women, Icons of Tolerance.'

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) has celebrated the Emirati Women's Day, which comes this year under the slogan 'Women, Icons of Tolerance.'

The ministry prepared a special film on Emirati women and tolerance, which was screened at the Roxy Cinema in City Walk in Dubai in the presence of HE Mona Waleed, Acting Undersecretary of Emiratisation Affairs at MOHRE, Dr. Omar Al Nuaimi, Assistant Undersecretary for International Relations and Communications at MOHRE, Aisha Bel Harfia, Assistant Undersecretary for Domestic Worker Affairs at MOHRE, and a number of departmental directors and MOHRE staff.

The celebration by all UAE institutions of the 'Emirati Women's Day' reflects the the UAE society's appreciation of women as well as its belief in the effective role they played during the process of development of the UAE federation and its recognition of their effort and contribution to the building and development process, Waleed said.

She explained that the wise leadership of the UAE and its institutions not only fully believe in the capabilities of Emirati women but are also aware of the importance of their role as partners of Emirati men in the building and development plans and provided them with all forms of support to empower them and strengthen their role in the country's process of development.

Waleed commended the efforts exerted by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak,  Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, to empower Emirati women.

She also valued the effective role played by Her Highness Sheikha Manal Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Gender Balance Council and wife of His Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, for reducing the gender gap and giving equal opportunities to all UAE people to obtain services and take up jobs at all levels.

The MOHRE is working on empowering Emirati women in related fields and enhancing their chances of achieving better gender equality in terms of employment indicators and taking up several administrative and supervisory jobs in which they achieved high performance levels, according to related global reports, she added.

Waleed pointed out that the MOHRE launched a package of initiatives and qualitative programs to empower Emirati women in the private sector jobs including the 'remote working system', which provides Emirati women, particularly those living in remote areas, the possibility to work without having to move to remote workplaces.

The film tackled the role of Emirati women in promoting the values ​​of tolerance in their families and the society as they constitute half the society and are an effective pillar in raising children. It also tackled the effective participation of Emirati women in the UAE process of development.
