UAE's MoHRE simplifies procedures for 3 domestic worker services

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has announced the development of services for cancelation and renewal of residence permit for domestic workers and registration of work stoppage complaint by shortening the steps to complete these services.

The Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation for Domestic Labor Affairs, Khalil Khoury, stressed that the ministry aims to make services for domestic workers as easy as possible to meet employers' demands and achieve their satisfaction. He pointed out that the development of the three services mentioned is being done as part of the first phase of a plan by the ministry to develop all 18 services for domestic labor services.

The employer can perform any of the services of cancelation or renewal of the domestic worker's residence permit or registration of a report of absconding through the Ministry's smart application without entering the password and username, where the employer has to enter his identity card number and date of birth and verification code in the image that appears in front of him in the application, after which an SMS with an OTP will be sent to his mobile phone number registered with the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security.

The employer has to enter the OTP sent to him, select the employee who is to provide the service in his file, enter the required details and pay the fees. The application is forwarded directly to the authority for processing, and the employer receives an email with proof of payment and a copy of the notarized contract (in the case of the service to extend the residence permit for a domestic worker).

The MOHRE offers 18 services to employers who wish to hire and use domestic workers. These services are available through the Ministry's smart app, MOHRE, which is available on Google Play and the Apple Store, as well as through the Ministry's website, www.mohre.gov.ae, and by calling the call center toll-free at 80060.
