The MOHRE and guidance and counselling services centres discuss ways of working together to develop services for employers and employees

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) discussed with guidance and counselling services centres owners ways to develop the services offered by the centres to employers and employees, and the challenges faced by these 34 centres nationwide.

His Excellency Dr. Abdul-Rahman Al-Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratization, reiterated the Ministry's commitment to strengthening its partnerships with the guidance and counselling services centres, especially since the future phase of the labour market and the changes that the employment relationship will undergo in light of the adoption of Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021 regulating labour relations, which is scheduled to come into force on February 2, 2022, will require an increase in the frequency of awareness programs that contribute to achieving the objectives of the Decree-Law.

His Excellency appreciated the efforts of the Centres in guiding and directing both parties to the employment relationship through qualified legal experts on the rights and obligations prescribed by law, noting that the Ministry wishes to support the Centres to develop their service delivery system in line with the Government's vision and partnership with the private sector to provide excellent customer service.

This came during a meeting held by His Excellency with the owners of the guidance centres at the MOHRE office in Dubai in the presence of Saif Al Suwaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Human Resources Affairs, Maher Al-Obed, Assistant Undersecretary for Inspection Affairs, Aisha Belharfia, Assistant Undersecretary for Labour Affairs, and Khalil Khoury, Assistant Undersecretary for Domestic Labour Affairs and a number of stakeholders in the ministry.

The meeting is the fourth of its kind held by the Ministry with its private sector partners. Separate meetings have already been held with business service delivery centres, domestic worker recruitment centres and representatives of a number of contracting and construction companies as part of a program by the Ministry to communicate regularly with its private sector partners.

The meeting focused on the operational challenges of the centres providing advice and guidance services and the prospects for collaboration and partnership between the Ministry and the centres in the current and future phases.
