Work Bundle: Breakthrough in elevating government services

By: His Excellency Omar Al Mazeina, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Labour Affairs, Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE)

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai, launched the Work Bundle initiative as a model for innovation.

The initiative aims to simplify government procedures, enhance efficiency in line with the Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme, streamline operations, and further enhance service standards in the federal government. It forms part of the UAE's efforts to drive digital transformation, which are leading to revolutionary advancements and positive outcomes.

The Work Bundle reflects the UAE's vision for a cutting-edge digital future. It provides a unified platform that brings together eight different government services, making it easier for private-sector companies to manage their employee relations efficiently and seamlessly.

The Work Bundle aligns with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation's objectives and strategy to enhance labour market competitiveness, attract top talent, and deliver exceptional services. The initiative also aims to facilitate residency and work procedures in the country, while streamlining government services. As a federal government entity, the Ministry collaborates with all stakeholders to advance the goals of the Work Bundle and align it with the principles of the Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme.

The Work Bundle marks a groundbreaking shift in the government's transactional procedures both regionally and globally. It streamlines transaction processes by reducing the number of steps required from 15 to just five, the number of documents required from 16 to 5, and the number of necessary in-person visits from seven to just two. This shift has had a direct impact on the time required to complete the transactions, which has been reduced from 30 working days to just five.

The initiative emphasises the importance of collaboration among federal and local government entities, highlighting the need for their seamless integration to achieve the shared goal of positioning the UAE as a global leader in exceptional government services. The Work Bundle is a key milestone on the path to shaping a successful, efficient, and integrated digital future. It promises to drive notable change in managing businesses and to make people's lives easier. Moreover, the initiative enhances the customer experience by providing a unified digital platform that allows for seamless data exchange and ensures a consistent user experience.
