The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) will organise festive events for workers to celebrate the New Year, which will take place in more than 30 locations across the country under the slogan "With You and Through You, We Step into the New Year".
The Ministry has invited private sector companies and labour accommodations wishing to include their workforce in the celebratory events, which will run for two days, on 31 December 2025 and 1 January 2026, to contact the Ministry by visiting the website mohre.gov.ae, and selecting the activities that best suit them based on the available timings and locations.
The festive events are being organised in cooperation with MoHRE’s partners from federal and local government entities including the Ministry of Interior, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security (ICA), the General Headquarters of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah Police, various municipalities across the country, Abu Dhabi Ports Group, and the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA Dubai).
Additional partners involved in organising the events include the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority, the General Directorate of Civil Defence in Dubai, the Permanent Committee for Labour Affairs in Dubai, Dubai Event Security Committee (ESC), the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai, the Labour Standards Development Authority - Sharjah, National Ambulance, Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ), and Al Ihsan Charity Association.
His Excellency Mohsen Al Nasi, Assistant Undersecretary for Inspection and Compliance at MoHRE, stated: “The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation continues to advance its strategy of strengthening engagement with workers and involving them in various events and celebrations across the UAE. This deepens their social integration and fosters a sense of belonging, while also celebrating their role as the cornerstone of our labour market and a fundamental pillar driving the nation's journey towards development and global leadership.”
Her Excellency Dalal Al Shehhi, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Labour Protection at MoHRE, affirmed that celebrating workers on all occasions and public holidays represents a sustainable approach adopted by the Ministry and a foundational strategy that yields benefits for the workforce, contributing to igniting worker happiness, solidifying their confidence in their roles and achievements, and significantly elevating the stability and attractiveness of the labour market. Such initiatives are a defining characteristic of the sophisticated work environment in the UAE.
A number of companies are also organising their own dedicated events on the sidelines of the Ministry's programme, reflecting a strong sense of social responsibility and a culture of care for workers and their social engagement. Notable participants include Sobha Constructions, Granada Europe Construction LLC, Millionaire Building Contracting, Advanced Metal Works, Luxury Homes Real Estate, Al Mehwar Engineering Consultancy, DULSCO Group, and Innovo Build LLC.
The New Year celebrations will feature competitions, sports, entertainment activities, and the distribution of commemorative gifts to workers, alongside other events and initiatives sponsored by major corporations, including DAMAC and Aldar Properties (Diamond Sponsorship category); The Insurance Pool and Sobha Properties (Platinum Sponsorship); du (integrated telecommunications company), Emirates General Petroleum Corporation (Emarat), Electronic Document Centre, National Marine Dredging Company, and Al Ansari Exchange (Gold Sponsorship category); and AW Rostamani Group (Silver Sponsorship category). These companies are integral partners of the Ministry, actively supporting labour market initiatives, driven by their profound sense of social responsibility.
