The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) held a ceremony at its headquarters in Dubai to honour 21 of its partners across federal and local government entities, as well as the private sector, for their contributions to this year’s Occupational Heat Stress Prevention Policy campaign, which concluded on 15 September 2025 with a 99% compliance rate among companies.
Her Excellency Dalal Alshehhi, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Labour Protection at MoHRE, praised the partners’ efforts in ensuring the success of the campaign. “Recognising and honouring partners’ contributions is a core part of the Ministry’s approach and ongoing practices in the labour market,” she noted. “It reflects the Ministry’s framework of partnership and integration with various entities, and aligns with our commitment to highlighting distinguished practices that enhance the efficiency of labour market governance and reinforce the UAE’s human-centric approach to workplace wellbeing. This includes comprehensive labour protection policies designed to ensure safe working environments that comply with the highest occupational health and safety standards, while protecting workers from injuries or damages that may result from working in high temperatures during the summer months,” Alshehhi explained.
The honouring ceremony included federal and local government entities, namely: the Ministry of Health and Prevention; General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, and Zakat; Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure; National Centre of Meteorology; Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai; Integrated Transport Centre - Abu Dhabi; Dubai Municipality; Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) in Abu Dhabi; Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre; Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters represented by Al Ain Police Directorate; Beit Al Khair Society, and the General Women’s Union.
Furthermore, nine private companies were honoured for their cooperation with the Ministry and for embedding the concept of social responsibility and worker protection at the core of their operations. Most prominent among these were UAE Food Bank, Ferjan Dubai, Union Coop, Burjeel Holdings, Aster DM Healthcare, National Food Products Company, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (du), and ADNOC Gas.
The Occupational Heat Stress Prevention Policy was implemented for the 21st consecutive year for a duration of three months, where from 15 June to 15 September 2025, working under direct sunlight and in open spaces was prohibited from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm every day.
