• The Emirates people are conservative nation and the rules of non-socialization must be respected while working or being at the employer's home.
• Make sure that strangers do not enter the house without the family members’ permission while they are outdoors.

Salary :

You are entitled to earn the salary mentioned in the contract you signed in AED at the end of each month or within a period not exceeding ten days from the date of its entitlement.

In the United Arab Emirates its recommended that you use the approved methods to transfer your salary that to prevent you from loosing your money.

Introduction to the salary wage protection system for domestic workers

Daily Rest:

The worker is entitled to a daily rest of not less than twelve hours per day, provided that it must include 8 hours of uninterrupted rest at least.

What is weekly rest?

The worker is entitled to a weekly rest day with a full salary without any deduction. Bearing in mind that, if you are employed on your weekly rest day, you will have the right to take an alternative rest day or to be granted a cash allowance equivalent to the full salary for that day.

It is preferable to determine a fixed schedule from the beginning of the contract. The determination of the places to spend the weekly rest day is subject to agreement between you and your employer.

• The worker is entitled to have annual leave of thirty days for each year, and the leave may be carried forward, provided that it shall be 60 days at the end of the contract and be paid before it is carried out. Annual leave timing should be agreed on between you and the employer, so you can enjoy it.
• The worker is entitled to have two days leave for each month if his/her service period is less than a year and more than six months.
• The worker shall not be employed during his/her annual leave more than once in two consecutive years.
• In the event of renewing your employment contract, leave days accrued to you for more than two years may be accumulated and obtained together.

• Inform your employer about your sickness and you have the right to be treated according to the procedures followed in the country
• If you are sick, you have the right to have a sick leave issued from the country's officially approved health authority for a period not exceeding thirty days in the contractual year, on full pay on the first 15 days, unpaid in the following 15 days. The employee is entitled to have it both continuous or intermittent.

• You must observe the customs and traditions of the community and abide by the public morals.
• Abide by the employer's orders unless they violate the contract, the law, or public morals, otherwise you will be subject to legal accountability.
• Do not let any strangers enter the employer’s home.
• Take care of the employer's property, work tools, and everything that is in your custody or at your disposal.
• Respect the privacy of the home and not to reveal secrets even after the end of the business relationship.
• Do not use work tools outside the work place without the employer's approval.
• Maintain good personal hygiene at all times, especially when mingling or dealing with young children.
• Perform the work required pursuant to the employer’s direction and supervision and to what is specified in the contract, and do your best effort to achieve that and do not cease to work without an acceptable excuse.
• If you lose or damage any of the employer's tools due to negligence or violation of instructions, a part of your full salary will be deducted. If you do not agree, you must contact the recruitment office or the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratizsation.

• Make sure that all devices are disconnected from electric power source when not in use.
• Make sure that all electrical outlets accessible to children are disconnected.
• Leave at least one meter between any source of fire or heat and flammable materials.
• Make sure you don't leave the children in the kitchen without supervision.
• Do not leave the kitchen for a long time while cooking food on the stove.
• Beware of using Clorox material with hot water.
• It is recommended to wear plastic gloves when using chemicals. You may wear a mask to avoid inhaling these substances. You also should wear appropriate shoes to avoid slipping on the wet floor.
